Adding this to your cat’s diet is a good idea because it is a natural flea deterrent. Sprinkle a teaspoon of the yeast on the food. You can buy these in many pet stores.

Commercially Available Flea Products

Spot-on treatments are the most widely used. They act quickly and can kill fleas within hours. These come in doses which are administered at the back of the cat’s neck.

Spot-on treatments have to be used every month or so to keep the fleas from returning. Flea shampoos are most effective if the fleas are only a few. Other methods flea control products are flea collars, powders, dips and pills.

Tips

Clean your home because the other fleas are scattered around the house. Vacuum the house. If necessary, vacuum numerous times daily. You should pay close attention to dark corners. That is the most likely hiding place of the fleas.
