Flea Bomb
The following instructions will show you how to use a flea bomb. These are general guidelines only. Read the package instructions before using them.
Required Materials
Masking tape
Newspapers
Place where you and your pets can stay while the bomb is active
Step 1
Choose a bomb type. The best ones are those with IGR. This ingredient will stop fleas from getting to the reproduction level. Be certain you get enough bombs to go over your entire home. Check the bomb square footage to get an idea.
Step 2
Put masking tape all over the windows. Close all drawers. Place all pots and pans in drawers or take them out of the house. If you leave the pots exposed, you will have to wash them later. Make sure all food is sealed. Throw away any food that is exposed to the flea
bomb.
Step 3
Relocate the furniture into non-carpeted spots. This will ensure the spray bombs get into carpeted areas as well. This is important because fleas like to hide in carpets.
Step 4
Have everyone leave the house. It is also a good idea to remove fish tanks, litter boxes, bird cages and pet beds.
Step 5
Position the bomb in the center of the room. It should be set in an upright way. Place several newspapers in and around the bomb. Repeat this for other bombs that you are going to set up in the house. Follow the instructions on how to detonate the bomb. Once it has been activated, leave the area immediately.
Step 6
Remain outside the house for as long as indicated in the product manual. Go back inside the house after the specified time has elapsed.
Step 7
Remove all the masking tape on the windows. Turn on all the fans and leave the house. Stay outside for another hour or so. Leave the fans on. This will allow air to settle in. Dispose of the newspapers when you get back into the house. Throw away the used bombs.
Step 8
Wash all clothes, linens and towels that were exposed to the chemicals. Vacuum all the furniture. Don’t forget to vacuum upholstered surfaces. Do the same for the rugs, floor mats and carpets. Use a damp cloth to wipe all surfaces. These includes tables and counter tops.
If you used the flea bomb without covering the dishes, wash them. You should also dust objects and materials that may have some residue left.
