How to Use Flea Foggers
Since these foggers come with very strong chemicals that could prove to be harmful to you and your pets, it is important that you follow directions to a T to ensure that no untoward incidents will occur during the process of killing the fleas.
You should know that no one should be in the house once you have started fogging. You will also need to wear protective covering to prevent the chemicals from doing you any harm. Cover your nose and your eyes in particular so no chemicals will get in your eyes and you also won’t inhale it.
First, keep all your plates, bowls and kitchen utensils inside a sealed plastic container prior to fogging. Open all closets, cabinets and drawers in rooms that you will be fogging; close all the doors and windows so the chemicals will be trapped inside your house.
If you have an aquarium, make sure that you cover this really well and that it is turned off.
Cover waxed furniture with newspaper or plastic cover. For furniture that you will be fogging such as your couch and other upholstered furnishings, place these in the center of the room altogether.
Immediately leave the house after you have fogged it. Return only after at least two hours, four if you can manage it. Before fully occupying the house again, open all windows to air out the rooms.
Other Precautionary Measures
Wash all clothes, kitchen utensils, plates, bowls, cups and glasses after fogging. Ensure that all food items are properly covered or sealed prior to fogging. Should any of your food items be exposed, throw these out.
Thoroughly clean tables and surfaces that you use in the kitchen to prepare food. Vacuum carpets and upholstered furniture after fogging. Check the label on safety of repeat usage should you need to fog again.
