Flea infestations can be a serious problem but there are ways to remedy the situation. In most cases, a flea bomb will be required. Before you use the flea bomb, preparatory steps have to be taken.

Step 1

Select a fogger or bomb. The number of bombs required will depend on the house size. Conduct some research first. Choose only foggers with safe ingredients. Read the product instructions before using the flea bomb.

Step 2

Remove all living animals that are in the house. If you have a fish tank, remove it or cover with thick bags. The best way to keep cats and / or dogs out of the house is to groom them. Having their fleas removed as you rid the house of flea infestations is a good idea.

Step 3

Set up and use the flea bombs as indicated in the instructions. Tip: there are also spray bombs for the yard and garden. Use them before or after flea bombing the house. Open all the windows. Turn the fans and / or air conditioning on. Your goal is to give air to the house as much as possible. You should leave the house for at least another 60 minutes.

Step 4

After an hour, the house should be fully aired out. Go back inside and wash the dishes and laundry. This will be needed because of the flea bomb’s residue. These are harmful but it’s best to remove the smell from the dishes.

Step 5

Don’t forget to apply spot-on treatments to your pet. Follow all the instructions for using it. Most would recommend application 24 to 48 hours after bathing. However, this isn’t always the case, so you must read the product description thoroughly. Choose the flea control product carefully especially if you have a cat; they are very sensitive.

Tips and Warnings

Don’t enter the house too soon after using a flea bomb. The chemicals will still be present. Double check the covers you used on the fish tank before using the bomb.

If there is the slightest doubt that chemicals will get in, take it out of the house. Needless to say, no one should be in the house when the bombs set off.

Flea bombs are very effective when it comes to removing fleas. But you should only use them if necessary. Regular grooming of your pets and cleaning of the house will keep flea infestation to a minimum.
