The Health Department of New York has flagged fly foggers and other insect foggers as fire hazards. It has been found out that when these chemicals are released into the air, they can explode whenever they come into contact with any form of ignition source.

Examples of such ignition sources include something as unnoticeable as a hot stove or even a pilot light. Again, care should be taken and your entire home should be inspected for any source of ignition before using these products. Do not attempt to fog your house after cooking dinner and turn off any electrical source before using insect foggers.
