Although widely available, some people prefer to make their own indoor flea spray. If you are concerned about the ill effects of commercially available sprays, use the following guide to make your own.

Ingredients

Large spray bottle
1 cup witch hazel
3 tbsp. lemon juice
4 tbsp. eucalyptus essential oil
½ cup citronella essential oil
4 tbsp. peppermint essential oil
2/3 cup rosemary essential oil
4 tbsp. white cedar essential oil

Step 1

Boil a cup of water in a saucepan. Get the saucepan off the stove.

Step 2

Place the teabags in the water for twenty minutes. Let this mixture cool.

Step 3

Take the tea bags and combine it with the witch hazel. Make enough to fill up the spray bottle. Pour this mixture into the spray bottle.

Step 4

Spray this indoor flea spray on your pet and all over the house, your pet and the carpets.

Aromatic Spray

You will use the same ingredients as above. Just mix them all in a bowl. Pour it into the spray bottle. Spray this on your pet, their bedding and all over the furniture.

Lemon Spray

Some of the most popular natural sprays are those made with lemon. Prepare the following ingredients.

Ingredients

Sponge
Cotton ball
Spray bottle
Container
Lemon
Pint of distilled water

Step 1

Boil the distilled water.

Step 2

Cut the lemon into quarters. Put the lemons in a container. Pour the water over it. Seal the container and let it sit overnight.

Step 3

Get rid of the lemons in the morning. Pour the water into the spray bottle. Make certain the spray bottle has a good nozzle.

Step 4

Spray this on your pet. Do not spray on their eyes, ears or nose. If you don’t want to use a spray bottle, pour the mixture in a bowl. Dip a cotton ball in it and rub it on your pet. Just dampen the animal’s coat; there is no need to soak your pet. Whichever method you use, allow the spray to dry.

Tips for Buyers

Make sure that the product is indeed suitable for indoor spray. Only use the product as specified in the directions. Don’t forget to compare the prices. You can look online as some sprays are sold cheaply there. Of course you should also look at pet stores.

If you are going to buy indoor flea sprays, look for those that can kill ticks and other bugs as well. Fleas and ticks may infest your home at the same time. Getting a spray that can remove both is cost effective.
