Raid Flea Bombs
The Raid Flea Bomb is a product used for removing fleas in the house. While flea shampoos can get some fleas off pets, bombs and foggers are more suitable for heavy infestations.

The product has many ingredients, but fundamentally it is an IGR or insect growth regulator. A product with IGR means that it will break up the life cycle of the insect (in this case, fleas). Among the ingredients included are methoprene, precor and nylar. The product can be used outdoors or indoors because nylar is photo-stable.
Because of the way the fogger works, the fleas are destroyed at the larval stage. The fleas’ eggs are also destroyed. The bomb also contains chemicals that attack the fleas’ nervous system, leading to paralysis and death.
What Nylar Does
This is one of the most important ingredients of the product. Nylar is the element that interrupts the fleas’ growth cycle. It will hinder growth for 200 days after being used. It also plays a part in the destruction of adult fleas.
How to Use Raid Flea Bomb
Step 1
Vacuum the area you will use the product in. If the whole house will be treated, vacuum every room. Remove any fish tanks from the house. Put all kitchen utensils in drawers and lock it. Cover all exposed food or put them in the fridge.
All low hanging furniture should be upturned. If this isn’t possible, move them aside. This will allow the product to reach those places and kill the fleas.
Step 2
If you can’t lock the food cabinets, use masking tape to seal them off. Cover the floors with newspapers so they don’t get damaged. Close all the windows.
Step 3
Put the fogger in the middle of the room. Turn the canister on and leave the house. Everyone, from pets to people, should leave the house when the bomb is activated.
Step 4
Do not enter the house until after the time specified in the product. You can stay out of the house longer than what is specified in the product, just to be safe. When it’s safe to return, open all the windows and turn on all the fans. Leave the house and come back in an hour or so.
When you return, dispose of the Raid Flea Bomb and remove the masking tape. Remove the newspapers. Wash and clean the countertops. Wash any exposed utensils as well.
